 Roulette Definitions

Bankroll 
your bankroll is the amount of money you have that you are willing to lose in this session. Many people coming into problems by getting more than their bankroll allows .

Roulette Base Unit
Your base unit is usually your initial bet.  This is often the amount you will raise or lower your bet by in a progression.  However if you are betting in a high limit room you may choose to use a smaller change unit.  In progressions that Reset it is usually the number you reset back to after a win limit or loss limit is hit.       

Roulette Change Unit
This is the amount you go up or down in a progression.

Chop
A Roulette Betting Chop is when you have a loss followed by a win.  Often these will go on for a while.  This will cause problems on most positive progressions but most negative progressions will do well in a choppy run.

Double Chop
A double chop is when you have two wins followed by two losses.  

Home Run in Roulette
This is when you have designed multiple bets that have a group of numbers or a number in common.  When you hit the Home Run Number or numbers you get paid on all of the bets. An example would be if you had a bet on the third column and the third dozen and a number hits that pays on both of the bets.

Profit
This is the difference between the bankroll you walked in with and the money you walk out with after a winning session.  Many people talk of the big win however neglect to mention how many bets they made that did not pay off.  

String Profit
This is when the progression you are in gets into profit.   

Session Profit
This is when you are profitable for the whole session, not just this series of bets.

Column
A Column Bet is placed on the twelve number in the first, second or third row and like the Dozen bet pays two to one.  
First column includes number 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34
Second column includes numbers 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35.
Third column includes numbers 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36.

Dozen
The Dozen bets are right below the field.  The first dozen includes numbers 1 through 12, second dozen 13 through 24, third dozen 25 through 36.

Street
To place a Street bet you will place your bet on the line between the number and the dozen space on the board,  There are twelve streets and they pay 12 to one.

Line Bet (aka Double Street)
To place a line bet you put it on the line between the field and the dozens and
